Access to Early Years Education for Children Looked After
AMENDMENT
Information contained in this chapter was reviewed locally in December 2015 and updated as required to reflect current policy and practice. The pathway to access the free early education entitlement for Children Looked After is via the same route as all three and four year olds. Parents, Carers or Social Workers can either identify a suitable placement themselves or seek assistance from the Early Years & Childcare Sufficiency Team who administers the Early Education Funding which finances these places.
All two year olds who are children looked after, or who have left the care of the Local Authority as a result of an adoption order, a special guardianship order or a child arrangements order are also eligible to access the free early education entitlement.
