New Regulations

NOTE: Please read this before downloading any documents

In April 2011, several sets of Regulations, Standards and Guidance came into force:

  • The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010 (Care Planning Regulations) and Associated Guidance;
  • The Care Leavers (England) Regulations 2010 and Associated Guidance;
  • The Children's Homes (Amendment) Regulations 2011, Associated Guidance (Volume 5) and National Minimum Standards (NMS);
  • The Fostering Agencies Regulations 2011, Associated Guidance (Volume 4) and National Minimum Standards (NMS);
  • The Adoption Guidance and National Minimum Standards

Calderdale Children’s Services have not yet amended their policies and procedures in relation to these changes, but we are planning to do so.

To assist with the planning of necessary changes, Managers and Practitioners should familiarise themselves with the amended/new Regulations, Standards and Guidance; and with various Policy/Practice Briefings that have been produced for us.

Also, Managers should start to think through the operational/procedural changes that will be required resulting from the new Regulations.
